Beverages with plant-based ingredients

The beverage industry in Germany is constantly changing and is increasingly focusing on new products and flavors for end consumers. The health aspect and sustainability are playing an increasingly important role.

Don't miss these sugar substitutes!

Current trends

The trend is to consume more consciously, while at the same time taking care of our health and preserving our planet.

In Germany alone, more than 35 billion plastic drinking straws were consumed per year by 2021. By switching from plastic to more environmentally friendly materials, such as paper straws or bamboo, companies are making a major contribution to sustainability and environmental protection.

The demand for drinks with plant-based ingredients such as milk alternatives, drinkable meals and energy drinks with natural caffeine continues unabated. We supply producers of milk alternatives and drinkable meals with pea protein, rice protein, soy protein and guar gum, for example.

Our sugar substitutes and their areas of application

Consumers also prefer drinks with little or no sugar. These drinks contain sugar substitutes, which we offer in our portfolio:

  • Acesulfame K
  • Aspartame
  • Sodium cyclamate
  • Sodium saccharin
  • Sucralose

These are mainly used in calorie-free and calorie-reduced soft drinks such as flavored water, fruit juice drinks, lemonades, iced tea and energy drinks. Taurine and caffeine, among other things, are used in the latter energy drinks. These two raw materials can also be found in our portfolio.
