Depolymerized natural rubber (DPR) is used as a non-volatile plasticizer and as a carrier material for powdered rubber additives. DPR is part of the polymer matrix and can be cross-linked using the standard networking mechanisms. DPR also serves as a thickener in lubricating oils.
