Styrene block copolymers (SBC) are composed of polybutadiene, or polyisoprene, and polystyrene block polymers. They are produced by living anionic polymerization. SBCs are transparent plastics with high impact resistance. They can be synthesized in linear or star-shaped form.
Hydrogenation of the materials renders them UV-resistant and non-polar.
Industries
The styrene block copolymers (SBC) of TER Chemicals are used in numerous application areas. These include adhesives, sealants and plastics compounding. In addition, SBCs are often used for modification of films, bitumen and bitumen-based roofing membranes.
